Friday night Fight!

Jared's first fight ever in his life, in his Icedog Jr. A game.
(and yes that guy is 20!)

I love Christmas!

My good friend Esther shared this with me over an email this morning, and I loved it enough to post it here.
I work in a school that seems to call everything a Holiday. Were having a 'dress up day' instead of a Halloween party, or a 'Holiday Feast' instead of a Thanksgiving feast. 'Pajama day' instead of kids wearing costumes on Halloween.
I don't have to like it though!
Twas the month before Christmas
When all through the land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
See the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepards and Wise men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings their teachers would say
December 25th is just a 'Holiday.'
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an XBOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken and Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree"
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS,
not Happy Holiday!
Please, all Christians join together and
wish everyone you meet during the
holidays a
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Christ is the reason for the CHRIST-mas Season!

Icedog Debut for Jared!

Jared getting ready to head to his first Icedog Jr. A game!
warming up.... (I felt sick, I was so nervous for him-yet near tears of being proud all at the same time!).

Right before the anthem....Jared is in the center

Facing off...Jared played wing most of the game, but towards the end, he got to be center, and even get some power play time. The team won 7-2. Jared had 6 shots on net according the stat page on the www.nahl.com During the 3rd period Jared forechecked the defenseman and knocked the puck off of his stick and put the puck into the net. We went crazy....I did feel a small tear in the corner of my eye. Both my parents were there, along with both my brothers, their wives and almost all their kids. My nephew Matt is in Hawaii at the moment so he was not there. It was very exciting. At an earlier point in the game, a player from Wichita gave Jared a check from behind knocking him down. Jared's linemate come flying in and next thing you, they have gloves dropped and are fighting. Jared's Grandpa went up to this player after the game and thanked him for taking care of his grandson. haha The player says he always watching out for his line!

This is #23 (blue pants) who got the guy for the cheap shot he took on Jared. Many many fights during the game. I definitely dont like that part of the game. Not this fight but another left blood on the ice. Will Aide is his teammates name.
Jared played really well, even without the goal....hopefully he will get more games with the Icedogs now!

Carson with some Icedog major fan (I assume?)
Cousin Jenna at the game with her friend Joe
I held Macy (who will be 1 in a few days-ALREADY), it was nice to hold her, as it kept me calm during all those fights...

Concession time!
