Here is Carson getting his 'good grade' certificate at school this morning. He got a 3.43 GPA. Last quarter he had a 3.83 (I think it was). He told me about the ceremony at the school, and I didn't write it on the calendar. One of my co-workers whose son is also at the middle school was talking about her son's ceremony and I assumed they were the same day. Wrong. Her son is in a different grade, so I missed Carson's. I think he was disappointed, as was I.
Anyways, for this quarter, he walked right into the house and personally wrote it on the calendar. Luckily, both Derek and I were able to make it. I think there were about 12 parents there. This takes place at 8am. Kind of a weird time, but anyways, we were there this time to see him get his certificate.
Proud of you Carson, as always!

So this is how we enjoy Jared's games when he is out of Fairbanks.
You can watch the games on the B2 network online. Sometimes the feeds are perfect and sometimes not so perfect. They can freeze up and skip, or go to blackscreen.
Tonight the camera made it look like we were watching hockey on the tv from the 1970's. Super bad color, and the players were tiny. Hard to tell who is who sometimes.
Luckily though, we saw Jared get goal #2 for the Dogs, right before it froze up and we had to reboot the whole computer.
In the second picture that is Jared headed right in front of the net when he picks up the rebound and scores. (perfect time to be taking the picture, I guess).
Derek bought all the right cables (only 2 trips to Office Max and 2 trips to Fred's) to hook up the computer to the TV. We can watch and hear the games on the TV, instead of trying to look at the small computer screen.

Full Moon!

Imagine That

So we watched the movie with Eddie Murphy last night called Imagine That. It was pretty boring really. But on one part the daughter made a pancake for her dad. She topped it with Ketchup, Chocolate Syrup, Mustard and Hot Sauce. Carson said he wanted that for breakfast.
Putting on the hot sauce.

"This fork is getting ready to go on an adventure," said Carson.

Big Bite

Pretty gross. haha

More Icedog pictures that I stole off of one of my friends facebook pages. This was the last homegame he played in. He is now in Washington. They have a couple of games there this weekend, then he heads to Wichata Falls, Texas for a 3 games series. Then he and his buddy Tayler fly back early. They have to be back by Feb. 1st for midgets. Hopefully he gets a couple of games in. His playing time (and Taylers) has really been limited and it stinks. It has been a great opportunity for him though, and he has had a really good time. He has a lot of upcoming travel all for hockey. He made the Alaska Select team, so gets to go to Seattle for the Pacific District tryout in April. Hopefully he makes it to Nationals again, as I want to plan an extended trip before and after the National camp to Washington D.C. and to NYC.
Btw...Carson is now on book 5 of his Ranger's Apprentice series. He only has one more to go after this one.

If you can't laugh at yourself, who can?

When looking through my Iphone pictures one day, I came across this. Obviously I did not take it, since I am the one looking like some kind of weird freak. NO ONE (Derek, Jared or Carson) will admit to taking it. I guess I was doing some sort of dance from the kitchen...haha. (Yes, Elaine, from Seinfeld, has nothing on my dance skills!) haha

So it seems like I haven't been doing much lately, except going to Icedog hockey games.
Jared got to play last night, they lost 3-2. He only had 6 shifts, which is frustrating for us. He played really well, when he did play. He made some really sharp passing, in which he could have gotten some assists, but the goalie stopped the shot. He took one shot on net, which went slightly wide. He is working hard, and we are proud of him.

Cousins Matt and Jenna showed their support

Along with this family!

Macy was very upset that the Icedogs lost! haha
