13 reasons my kids play hockey and why I like that they play hockey...
13. Great exercise-so important in today's overweight society, staying healthy, taking care of their bodies with good workouts, diet and sleep!
12. Sense of pride in your team and in yourself.
11. Team work, working with others, listening to coaches and your teammates.
10. Keeping grades up to play-a must for their future whether that is in hockey or not.
9. Meeting new friends-from your own school, other schools and other parts of the world.
8. Travel-Been to Alberta, B.C., Yukon, Washington, Illinios, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, California and all over Alaska.
7. I know where my kids are on Friday and Saturday nights! Keeps them out of trouble.
6. So their parents (me!) can meet other parents...made some of my best friends at the hockey rink!
5. Discipline-getting homework done before practice, having good eating habits, controlling yourself in tough situations.
4. learning to Respect....respecting your coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, and parents.
3. All the hours spent in the car driving to the rink, other towns or to games so we can talk to each other.

The travelling was my favorite part of hockey. We can get many of those other great qualities from other sports, but not the exotic travel! :) Hoping you are enjoying MN right now!
